Why I started a blog
Archival science seems boring, trivial, or uninteresting to some (or even most) people. And an archivist is usually associated with someone who spends entire days in basements surrounded by piles of dusty and unpleasant-smelling papers, arranging, sorting, and processing them.
But few people know that archival science, like other fields of study, has “advanced” in recent years, in part thanks to modern technologies such as the digitization of archival materials.
I started this blog because I would like to share my knowledge and experience in the field of document archiving with you. I hope to help many archivists in their work.
As a field of study, archival science is really important because it is thanks to it that we preserve our heritage for future generations. After all, every company, institution, and individual in the world leaves something behind (documents, photographs, audiovisual recordings, and many other things). It’s not hard to imagine what would happen if no one archived this, but instead, for example, destroyed it.
After the previous generations, nothing would have remained. Moreover, archival science is connected with all areas of our lives.
